Traditional farm landscape at Kestitupa

Kestitupa is located on an attractive Nurmesniemi farm right by Lake Alakeyritty. The farm has been occupied since 1800's and farming was started in the early 1900's. That is when Kestitupa was built. Now it has been refurbished to its old glory and it is perfect for meetings and special events. Nowadays the farm gets its income from agriculture and tourism.

Lake Ala-Keyritty has some of the most valuable shoreline in the province, and Kestitupa owns 1,5 km of it. Pasture by the shore has been used for cows and horses approximately for 100 years. The shoreline has many plants and flowers that have been inventoried, for example purple loosestrife, marsh lousewort, matgrass and all sorts of sedge and hay.

We will gladly show you around the farm. The tour takes about 1-2 hrs and you should wear rubber boots.

You can also ask about all the farm animals, we would be happy to tell more about them. And nearby Kestitupa are many inventoried valuable land types such as wetlands, rocky- and other landscape typical to Finland.
